advanced research & innovative diagnostics

The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is considered one of the premier research programs pursuing groundbreaking discoveries for traumatic spinal cord and brain injuries, as well as other neurological disorders. The Miami Project’s international team of more than 175 scientists, researchers, clinicians, and support staff is dedicated to improving our patients’ quality of life and, ultimately, finding a cure for paralysis.

Currently, researchers are performing clinical studies in spinal cord injury, including testing neuroprotective strategies and performing advanced rehabilitation and neuromodulation approaches with technologies like a brain-machine interface.
